Default Gut out my catalytic converter

My passenger side cat had 'low efficiency' listed as a service engine soon problem. It was plugged so I removed the catalyst without destroying the shell. I am wondering if the engine will be ok with the the original O2 sensors or do I need to add a resistor to compensate for the difference on the downstream sensor? My concern is the engine running too lean and burning out the valves on the right side... or other issues. Has anyone out there done this before?

The differential voltage between the two sensors going back to the processor (ECU) is now much different because there is no longer a cat between them. This also caused me to think that there is now a difference in flow pressure from the left side (less) than the right side (more) and will this cause a problem with back pressure?

It won't effect it. You'll probably throw a code for the rear O2, but you could tune that out or you could get simulator for it, but it won't effect your A/F ratio at all. I would eventually take off the driverside and do the same to it.

The o2 sensors read excess carbon, etc., thus cut down on fuel

Probably the rear o2's but not the front. Those would keep reading the same. Wouldn't it detect more airflow there for increasing the fuel to compensate for more air it would read? Therefore running rich on one side
