Default Will 2001 Headers work on a 1999?

I found a decent price on some used MAC headers and was just wondering what the difference is between the ones for the 1999 cars and the ones for the 2001 cars. Is there any difference in the y-pipe also? Thanks

99 ls1 have egr hook ups and 01's dont. The y pipe should be the same the 99 and 01 cars both have o2's before and after the cats. If you are putting a 01 on a 99 you can use an egr block off plate or even take the egr out all together. You might need to have your computer tunned to get the most out of your power.

I plan on getting it tuned after the headers to get some more power out of my cam. If I block off the EGR, won't I get an SES light? I have to re-install all of the stock stuff for emmisions so nothing can be permanent. Thanks

You will get a ses light but you can have that deleted with ls1 edit. The block of plates are bolted on so they can be removed and turned back to stock if you had to pass emissions.

I don't know off the top of my head, try some of the sponsors...

I have my own question, say I "delete" the EGR code or whatever you delete, will the EGR system still function if I decide to put the EGR tube and what not back on the car? Or do I need LS1Edit again to make it work.

You would have to reprogram it again with ls1 edit or else the computer would be confused.
