LT and a LM are a pretty loud setup. I added in a 6" round Magnaflow muffler and it tamed it down a lot. Now it's not my daily driver anymore and I have true duals with spiral flows and it will make your ears bleed.

Go with the borla xr-1 (the best $125 ive spent ). I was getting pulled by the cops all the time and got busted for no cats. I gutted a thunderbolt cat and put the borla on and it cut out all the rasp/drone out of my LT,ORY,LM1 setup

My friend had longtubes, ORY, and LM1 on his car and it is freakin loud. I have the same setup except with the LM2, and it's much quieter, less raspy and sounds great taking off. If I had LM1, i'd add the PowerFlo exhaust, or switch to LM2.

When I bought my LT1 car it had no cat and a LM 1...dear god it was stupid loud. I put long tubes and a hooker catback on it and it sounded great after that.

Friend of mine has a 99 Z28 with 1 7/8'' kooks + their Y and a LM...it is way way way to loud. I would highly recommend either magnaflow or hooker...both sound good and they are not overly loud.
