Well, i've never cared for flowmaster much either. On the other hand ive never been a fan of the extreemly muffled stock. I'm pretty sure i wont mind actually hearing the engine now.. I wanted to get a catback loudmouth, but thats just gunna have to wait. muffler<catback<true duels<$$$$

You can do an el cheapo borla by conecting I pipe that goes to the muffler to the pass. tail pipe. Did this back in 99' when alot of mods were not available just had a muffler shop cut a hole and weld a peice of pipe in.

Got it installed. Its way better than stock sounds deep and clean. Its not as loud as a full cat back but i like the stock tips, the cats are gutted, and the guy before me put in a replacement y-pipe so i feel like theres not really any difference. I noticed the throttle seemed more responsive, either it does actually increase the flow that much or im not uncomfortable to step on it and hear the high reving stock exhaust..either way im much happier for now

I have flowmaster on my iroc and it sounded amazing with full exhaust and headers so I got just the muffler for my 01 z28 and to be honest it was a bit too quiet for what I thought it would be in comparison.
It does sound good in my opinion and the bolt ons for the induction have made it sound and run better.
I just bought pacesetter headers and y pipe off ebay, going to try to get a magnaflow catback and see what I think of it, might get the flowmaster catback also on there right now.
Theres so many people that say flowmaster is bad blah blah but really they do flow pretty good and sound good, their construction isnt the most beautiful but it works. It flows better than the stock muffler causing pressure differences enough to create popping sounds depending on how you drive.
btw installed my flowmaster muffler was $200 the budget shop was $160 but my friend had issues with them just for an idea of cost here?
