Default Idle high right after bbk tb install

I put a BBK power-plus 80mm TB on my TA. right after start up it started idling funny kind of like a vacuum leak or like it had a cam, then idled steady at 1500RPM.
I believe the throttle cable was at proper position, it has a hole about 3/16ths drilled in the TB blade, which I was wondering if that would do it.
Its a used TB and came out of a bolt on big cam LS1
I didnt let it run too long just about a min and then down the street and back, do I need to let it idle for awhile to learn the new tb?

by the way im running open LT headers right now if that matters at all and stock cam.
Pic is of the hole in the TB blade.

i put one on my car about 2 mths ago. i have had nothing but issues with it since. Mine doesn't have the hole in it. good thing i bought mine used also and will sell for a profit. I only have a diablo tuner and have played with all the setting that i can it it still idles funny and the CEL wont go off. It don't shift right. IMO it was a waste of money for a bolt on car. Plus the adaptor makes everything fit like ****.

have you tired to loosen the idle screw on side to where it closes the TB more.

i havent messed with screw, the blade rests all the way closed so isnt that where it needs to be?
I also only put on 1 of the throttle cables, the one that is controlled by the gas pedal.
the other is just cruise control right? that needs adjusted before it can go on.

Its definitely the hole drilled in the blade, thats WAY to large for any car. Guys with large cams will do this to band aid tunes to get the car to idle. You are going to have to fill that hole in and either re drill a much smaller one or none at all and adjust idle off the set screw entirely. I would suggest running a slight counter sink on each side of the hole and then filling with a high strength epoxy. With the countersink the epoxy will have no way of pulling through or falling out.

I wonder if I can just buy a new blade.. I'll have to look into that.

What size hole would you want in there for a bolt on stock cam motor?

Default hole in blade

I considered buying a BBK w/ the hole. declinded on the sale because I knew that the hole could be a potensail problem contacted BBK they will not sell just a blade for legal reasons. they don't want that blade sticking like on the Toyotas.

I'd expoxy it like above mentioned or maybe weld it for peace of mind also port that thing.

I have heard of people using JBweld. But I have no personal experience.

humm... I can immagine **** hitting the fan if somehow it came off and got got sucked into my engine hahah
wonder if a little bolt and nut through would disrupt airflow much.

So there is not supposed to be a hole at all? your just supposed to adjust it open a little bit?

It sounds horrible, but I put on some gorilla tape over mine. It's been holding for over a year now with no problems. And let me just say that tape sticks like crazy and shows NO sign of coming off. The way I see it, I'd rather have gorilla tape get sucked through my engine than epoxy. Been working fine until I can afford to upgrade the TB.
