Default Lost intake manifold bolt! Help on what to do!

Ok so I started the ls6 intake swap and I canot find one of the intake manifold bolts. Would it be ok to bolt it up with 9 out of the 10 bolts? I figure probably not, but I really need it to be running. Where could I pick up a bolt that i could substatute in for the ls1 manifold bolt temporarely?

Only place I know of would be the dealer, You could try to go to an industrial bolt store or supply, I can tell ya now you aint gonna get it at lowes or home depot, its such a long bolt its kinda hard to find. I wouldnt leave it out, when putting the manifold on you are torquing it to a set value using torque steps, (thats the correct way to do it) Its a plastic intake So I dont know about running without the bolt, I personally wouldnt do it,,,but if you have to I would leave one out of the front half, not the very first one but the one beside it going towards the center. If you were closer I could give ya a spare, another option if you absolutely have to have it and cant find the bolt You could buy a piece of allthread cut it to length screw it into the head and then torque a nut down. and use it like that till you can get a bolt. If ya do that put it in the easiest one to get to that way when you get a bolt it wont be a pain.

Hey I really appreciate both of your guys input alot. This is what I ended up doing

Ok well my friend has a junked 99 v6 camaro and I found an identical bolt on its intake manifold, except it was about half inch short. Soo I cut down the place where the bolt goes through a little bit so the bolt would fit. What do you guys think?

ha its ok I smoothed it all over and you cant even tell I cut a little peice off. Nope I have been driving the car all day lol I checked the intake port very very thuroly(spelling?)

I dropped the bolts like 3 different time in the garage and My cement floor have huge deep cracks lol. Im sure it lieing in one of them. Car has ran perfect all day and I can feel a bit more power. I had a cuple friends with camaro's look at it and had them look over the engine to see if they could find something wrong and they never seen that I had cut the top of that post off so I think it cleaned up nice and I can't even tell. Soo im very happy with the install. Overall probably took me 3 hours of working on it lol

I didn't have time and no one had the bolt I needed. I looked everywhere. Had work today so it had to be running for today and I didn't feel comfortable running 9 bolts, I think it would have leaked

I would have waited for the proper bolt, but my car isn't a daily driver. So I can afford to have it in "not running" condition.

I'd say, "Kudos" for having the ***** to do what it takes to get the job done. Modifying a performance part that you spent your hard earned money on isn't an easy decision to make.

I'd like to see a picture of the modified hole with the bolt in it. If it looks as unnoticeable as you say it is, then I say, good job!
