BG Ram Air
" Ram Air Tips
To maximize the effect of the Ram Air Hood we would highly recomend keeping in the front license plate cover if racing at the track. Without this in place the nose of the car, due to the square hole for the plate, will generate turbulence, creating a dead spot or air pocket in front of the nostrils. This is detremental to the functionality of the Ram Air unit.
When racing at the track remove the nostril screens for better air flow. The screens can reduce the potential air flow by up to 25 to 30% due to the ribbing that makes up the honeycombs."
I was planning on taking out my honeycomb screens at the track anyways....now I will do it for sure!
First off you don't need no rain block off plate. I live in the NW and have had this mod on my car for the last 2 years and have driven thru some of the worst torrential downpours that god has ever sent down upon us. I'm talking where it's raining so hard that you can't see the car in front of you and your windshield wipers do absolutely no good at all while driving at freeway speeds with the cars in front of me making a friggen wake. I'd get home and check and there would be water on the plastic below the air filter, but none that managed to make the 90 degree turn upwards into the airfilter. I've also ran a few lapping days at 110+ mph with cars in front of me kicking the water up and no water got into the airfilter. I even have the honeycombs removed .... it's all wide open. It's NOT a problem.
I've also ran the Silver State at 165 mph continuous speeds and this thing kicks *** at highspeeds ( The oblong rubber plug that helps seal up the airbox blows out at 150+, so glue it in if you're going to go this fast
) I only have a 340 rwhp car on the dyno, but my car will do an estimated 175 mph .... does the BGRA mod add hp ?? You better believe it does. At high speeds it works very well. The faster you go the more it adds.If you have a WS6, you need the BGRA mod .... and forget the rainblocker plate. If you still think you need one I'll sell you mine. It's never been in the car.

You got that right. This looks very interesting, now if I could only find an available lid that fits the Vortech...
