Default BG Ram Air

Is this thing worth the money? It sounds like it would do some good, better then just sealing it yourself. Would it work good with the a new lid, filter, and a FTRA?

Look at the new hi tech pontiac performance they got like.2 out of it I think. I have one for sale very cheap with a cracked mounting plate. Easy fix with epoxy or they sell individual parts as well. complete with nostrils etc... I just bought a blower only reason I'm selling it.

I dropped .15 off my et with it. Most notice a lot more power when you get into 3rd gear. The only drawbacks are closing the hood with the seal in place, and driving in the rain.

I highly recommend it for a WS6. I didn't do any before and after runs, but it dropped my IAT by as much as 40* under certain conditions And the SOTP gain was there at speeds above 75mph.

Mine still looks like new after 3+ years. Very nice piece.

Ditto here, I highly recommend this mod. I noticed an improvement, especially on the highway.

well theoretically with ALOT of rain you could get water into your motor. But there is also a rainblocker you can put in easily on real rainy days. Don't know about the hood thing never heard of it being a problem..

I never had an issue with closing the hood. Mine closes just as easy with the mod as it did before...

I can't speak for the rain issue, I never drive this car in the rain. But I did buy the rain blocker plate in case I ever get caught in a storm.

Absolutely! People may take the grills out because they want to maximize airflow. The grill do provide some restriction. I run without the grills, but I can't honestly say I felt any SOTP with them on versus off.

I also have never had any problems with the opening and closing of the hood. Just make sure the foam seal is coated with veggie oil, and it will be fine. As far as rain, just get the rain blocker. Takes a minute to take the foam seal out and snap the blocker in.

This is a great mod, plus if you have any problems or concerns, Brian will take care of you ASAP!

Yeah I will definitely be getting one. Along with a lid, filter, FTRA, this I imagine will do some pretty good ****. Thanks for all your input.

It turns the factory "ram air" (if you want to call it that) into real ram air system by removing the baffles and sealing the hood scoops to the air box. It's the way GM should have made it.

You can see it here www.geocities.com/brian98ramair or here http://www.ls1speed.com/catagory.cfm?catagory=induction (scroll down about half way through the page to see it in the second link). Both are the same kit, Speed Inc just sells them for Brian Greene.

Then you can get the rain blocker plate and pop it in when it's raining. I know lots of people that drive their car in the rain with this mod without issues. Once you have the hood popped, it takes about 3 seconds to switch from the foam gasket to the rain blocker plate.

Not hard at all. You just have to drill the rivets out, then apply a little pressure on the baffles to break the glue still holding them in loose, and they're out.

I think it took me longer to put the drill bit in the drill than to get the baffles out.
