Default I thought I had flowmasters... but now I'm not sure

So, I've been wanting to put a Magnaflow setup on my Z and wanted to know what setup I currently had. I bought the car from a dealership in Milwaukee and live about 6.5 hours away... The guy couldn't tell me what kind of muffler is on there and thought it was a Flowmaster. So, I crawled under it today and there is no identifying labeling or anything on it other than 84222153 on the bottom... can anyone help me and let me know how I can possibly tell what the hell this thing is without uninstalling it?

Haha, alright, I doubt I'll be able to get any tomorrow due to rain, but I'll try and get some up.

Most flowmasters ive seen look like this or have a similar finish, like stated its hard to tell without pics.

I put one on my car just the muffler and it sounds pretty good

Im going with pacesetters and a magnaflow catback, just waiting for them to get here.

That part number looks like a GM part number to me. Maybe it is just a stock muffler.

they only cost about 3-5hp over all your other catbacks at most. There was a guy that posted in the dyno section that his heads/cam/ ls6 intake setup only gained 5hp with the cutout open vs. closed with a flowmaster catback. he put down 435whp with a eps baby, untouched 243 head and ls6 intake. Alot of stuff you read on this site is more opinion than fact...

edit. when I posted heads/cam/ intake, I forgot to put that it was an ls6 intake so people don't think it was a fast...

That picture looks similar, but flipped over, it's only a dual exit not a quad. So, maybe whoever hooked it up installed it upside down. The car is definitely louder than stock so I dunno. It's friggin pouring down rain today so if I get a chance to go snap some pics I will.

Thank You! Everyone reads what everyone else says and don't do any research themselves and think they know what there talking about Has anyone seeing a comparison chart of different mufflers or more than just that one guy that did 1 dyno? **** a cutout better produce more hp, 5-8hp or w.e it was is minimal compared to the function of a e-cutout compared to a muffler anyways. I haven't seen any other mufflers compare to a e-cut either

The Flowmaster name is embossed in every muffler case that Flowmaster builds. If it doesn't say Flowmaster on the case, it's not a genuine Flowmaster muffler. Buyer beware; Flowmaster knock-offs may look similar, but may not perform or sound the same, and often have a high defect return rate.

is listening to other people who have used or experienced the product in mind not a form of researching?

Alright, I have some actual pictures now of what I'm running.
From the rear.

Close up of the numbers.

Front to rear, the right side of the muffler.

Front to rear, left side of the muffler.

Over the axle.

From axle to cat.

Back of cat to front of cat.

Let me know what you guys think... I'm starting to think that it's not a real flowmaster, but any advice would be appreciated.
