Default car is strong at 3900 rpms under regular acceleration.

When I am driving normal but ride the gears a little when the car hits around 3900 rpms its like it gained 100hp. Im not flooring it just when it hits 3900 the car gets a burst of power. Why isnt that power there the whole time. A better way maybe of explaining it, its like Im running on 2 cylinders but 3900rpms come its like 8 cylinders even tho its under the same acceleration. anyone got a answer?

i dont have an answer for this, but my car feels the same way. 1/2 throttle, let it pull to 3,800 or so and it feels like there is a power increase.

3900 RPMs and regular acceleration? Taking your motor to nearly 66% of its rev limit is regular acceleration? Not in my world.

I suspect if youre doing that and experiencing more perceived power, its because youre in your peak power band.

your not understanding what we are saying. I shift at no more than 2500 during normal so no i don't go up to 3900 during normal acceleration. We are saying at say 50% throttle there is a definite power increase at 3900. Its not something that I do everyday, but I have felt it before.

What are your mods? it's probably that you're feeling where the torque curve hits peak and crosses/matches the HP for that RPM and throttle position. I notice it too if I'm really feeling "in tune" with the car.

How many miles are on the car? I'm willing to bet it's oxygen sensors too... Mine are starting to get lazy and it does the exact same thing around 3600..... keep in mind this is an auto car too

Don't know if the car has been tuned, but it could be related to your timing as well. Maybe you need some timing a little lower in the rpms. The timing curve might not be as smooth as it needs to be and it might make a bigger jump to a higher number at that rpm. Just a thought.

yeah, my car is tuned, so it might all be in the tune. It was tuned before I bought the car, so who knows what the tune looks like.

Mine does that too. I know mine is chipped and amoung some other things from original owner so I have no idea why it is that but its pretty cool. I shift around 3000 just regular driving and 4k speeding.
