Default anyone own SSRA *AND* FTRA???

gotta buy it today while she's still in a good mood!

the SSRA sounds better in theory,
but owners dont seem thrilled.

FTRA sounds not as good as SSRA,
but owners are crazy about it.
but, that is just what ive seen from ls1.com

anyone with any empirical evidence?

My SSRA is supposed to be on my door step on 15-Jan. Al Austin told me 2mph & .2 in the qtr. Also more than one guy in here has told me they saw those results. I don't have any other evidence yet.. Tell Al, Fred from SI said to call, Fred

isnt the FTRA also .2 and 2mph?
or like ~20hp?

and if it is,
i remember some guy said the FTRA would get another .1, 1mph
if you add the scoop extention thing.
that would be .3, 3mph total.

but doesnt the SSRA already come with that scoop thing?

Are these gains you guys speak of including the aftermarket lids or the product (SSRA or FTRA) combined with the aftermarket lid or combined with the stock lid. Just Curious.

dont know the exact gains but from a 30 roll i felt the acceleration difference. the ftra is better that the ssra on a daily driver because it doesnt pic up water nearly as easy and it doesnt hang low enought to get caught on curbs and stuff. but the design looks better on the ssra for more air pickup on a drag only setup. the gains are base on the assumption that you already have a high flow lid.

.2 and 2mph seems a bit optimistic, but hey, I just got a SSRA too, so there's only one way to find out.

I have never had my SSRA pick up water, it does not hang "lower" than an FTRA, but it does protrude farther forward.

I heard someone using a piece of one of those floating noodles that kids play with in a swimming pool to cover up the SSRA. They usually come in a highlighted green or yellow. They can always be painted black!

I have the FTRA and I am very pleased with it.
I know the SSRA *used* to have major quality issues, not sure about that anymore.
.2 gain sounds a bit much to me, I would say more along the lines of .1, but I did notice a differance when I put mine on my non WS-6 Trans Am.
