hAS ANYONE EVER CUT OUT THE HOLE IN THEIR RAM AIR HOOD?
I've got a 98 Trans Am Ram Air. I was looking at the car trying to find a way to get more air into the engine, and so I started looking at the ram air hood. There are those little plastic grille inserts that have a honeycomb texture to them. I took those out and looked inside and to my dismay there are these little 'shelves' that redirect the airflow and are pop riveted into place. My question is this. Has anyone cut out or otherwise modified those pieces so that the engine will get more ariflow? Is it worth going through all the trouble to cut the pieces out? If anyone has done this, did you notice any gain? Obviously you would only see an improvement when the car is moving. Well, thanks for your time. Paul Moore
