Yep, I'm sure they are worth a tiny bit and definitely sound and look better. I looked at a bunch and I think I'm going to go with the BBK chrome ones, they have a thick flange so I think it should seal really well.

Chrome is all bad on headers.. they wont be nice chrome for long. They will change to all sorts of colors. Had some on my Sonoma.. Id recommend some kind of coating over chrome.

Oh, and if you go with an UD Pulley, i just picked up my Powerbond from New Era. They had the best price, and i must say, its a beautiful piece. Its ALL black, and looks great with an ARP bolt. Oh, and the belt retention walls are great! lol

I'm leaning towards Eldebrock...then having them coated along with everything else at Olympic Coatings in Escondido, same place I had my Strano sway bars coated red and did an awsome job..good price too.

i would use your ls6/afr head setup with factory manifolds and high-flow cats. if a stock longblock car with headers can dyno 350whp, surely an ls6 cam/afr head motor can do the same with manifolds.

Yeah, I was thinking this too but theres hoops I have to jump through to get that done. Even just using 01-02 manifolds will be a hassle because I will have to convince them that its supposed to be that way when the sticker under the hood says EGR. Trust me, they know what stock cats look like and will call me on it if they aren't there.

I looked at them too but they are about $200 more than the other ones, maybe I will give them a go.

but sounds like a decent smog approved set up
Damn I though Jersey was bad...In that case I would go w/ the shorties, if your gonna swap the older manifolds out anyway might as well gain a few hp...

BBK $330 << chrome
Edelbrock $430 <<ceramic coated

I dont think the chrome last to long.

I was gonna see about saving some $$ & getting a set bare stainless and have them coated, Joel at Olymipc coatings it's one of his primary buisness coating headers.

I have a CARB plate from some JBA shorties, I've considered tacking the plate onto some long tubes with high flow cats.

I'm actually considering this, I will just need to get the 00' AIR and EGR fittings because the face a different direction from a 98. Who ports those things? Or is it hard to do yourself?

Yeah mids won't pass. I'm getting a set of 00 manifolds on friday. I'll port them out and slap them on. Should be OK.
