Default Dual Exhaust cost?

My roommate has a 2000 Trans-am WS6. He is getting exhaust soon and I showed him a bunch of sound clips of dual exhaust with the dynomax race magnum mufflers. Question is how much does this cost to do from a custom exhaust shop? Also, I notice most people have them dumped, is it possible to run tailpipes out the back? Thanx for the help.

how much it cost depends on where you go and what all you want. I am currently running a x-pipe true dual setup on my MACs that is dumped at the at the rear, but i have the option to swap in cats or off-road pipes and i run dynomax bullets, you can see pictures by clicking on my link below. It can be made to exit the rear, but that would cost a little more most likely. I would say you are looking at $500-$800 for a nice setup.

I had heard similar $500 quotes...but when I went around to get quotes from my local shops they all said around $230 for custom x pipe, dynomax bullets, and turndowns at the axle (all 2.5" pipe), so maybe it depends largely on where you are located...

My local shop priced mandrel bent 3" duals X, bullets, dumped at $450.
I supplied a pair of Flowtech Afterburners instead and everything came out to $480 installed.

dumps are cheap easy under 500 with parts and labor. over the axel will cost you, figure 800+.

if you want to swap cats in and out then flange them and the off road pipes or use band clamps

I have a true dual 3"all the way out the back that cost 750 with dr gass x, 3" oval magnaflow tips and piping. I really dont care for the driver side over the axle, and it is at the exhaust shop right now for side pipes. It is nascar loud at 4k rpm. Not what I would want on a daily driver.

I made my all 3 inch system myself. It was 300-400 dollars for parts depending which mufflers I chose.

i bought a headman x pipe and some dynomax bullets. i took it to the shop and had them make the pipes to come off the headers welded into the x and then welded straight pipes to the 2 dynomaxes and dumped before the axel. it cost me like 100 for the parts and around 175 for the install. i got a good price cause i know the guys and they hooked it up. the weld is a little thick on one of the pipes leading to the x pipe but overall a great job.

The cats/off road pipes are bolted to the mac flanges, then the passenger side cat and off road pipe has a 3 bolt collector on it, so it just unbolts, the driver side slips into the rest of the exhaust and has a band clamp on it. takes about 10 min to install cats. shut us an email with your email address and we can send quite a few pictures.

I paid $225 for stainless steel 2.5in all the way out the back, not including the mufflers (dynomax bullet's $80 to my door), this also included a custom made x-pipe. I have allready posted sound clips of mine recently, just do a search on my screenname to find them.
