Do you think your problem is the rear tabs or the front snap locks?

iam not sure the tabs go in pretty easy but i think the acordian is pushing the lid forward very hard ... which makes the snap locks pop off .....

Did you duct tape the front latches or was it the rear tabs?

Have you contacted the place where you bought the lid, maybe it's time to return it. You shouldn't have to mess around installing screws, duct tape and such, see about getting one that fits correctly. Good luck.

Dude, calm down.
Are you using a stock accordian bellows or a smooth one?

You can always get a smooth bellows, the kind with one rib, and trim it so as to releive the forward pressure which makes the snaps undo. Trim the bellows at an angle which matches the angle between the TB and the MAF.
Try this. If this fails, get furious.

The Fernco is a decent idea to hold you over. Just make sure to get something that flexes eventually.

One More Question ..... When you buy a K&N Filter it comes with a rubber seal that goes around the underside the the lid .... is this needed with an aftermarket lid?? If i take that off it might give the lid a little more room to kinda sit down ... but not sure if it will still seal

I have a mti lid and I have the same problem with the snaps if I dont make sure the lid is as far back as it will go. Mine sometimes looks like it is on good but once any pressure is applyed the snaps break loose. Might want to play with different posistions with the lid.

GUYS!
Make sure the front lip on the lid is IN the groove in the lower airbox (not in front of it!). The clips popping off is a classic sign that you have it installed wrong.

This goes for ANY BRAND of lid.

You would be amazed at how many people mess this up.

That was the same problem I was having...
WILWAXU hit the nail on the head, you are not seating it correctly.
Once you do, you will see it fits perfectly.
