installing ls6 intake

installing ls6 intake Hey guys I came up on a good deal for an intake. And my question is... do I need coolant plugs for an ls6, or all I need to do is grind something.

Here is what the bottom of my LS6 intake looked like after I chiseled the ribs off it. I also kept the LS1 coolant lines

Yes you can. I used a dremel. Like others said, you can chisel it and probably not mess anything up but I'm heavy-handed and wanted to be safe so I just ground mine off. Also, I pulled those 2 foam pads off, ground the tabs off, and used spray adhesive to put the 2 pads back on. Good luck man.

just my.02 but why butcher up a perfectly good ls6 intake. remove the ls1 coolant lines and install 2 coolant crossover pipes and tie in the rear line to the front with heater hose. i also converted over to ls6 PCV at the same time.
Because it is wayy easier, less exspensive, and why would you do all the extra b.s when it is fine just to chisel the bottom little peices off? They don't do anything and you can't see it when its installed, so why does it matter? Just go the easy route. It works great

But using the rear block offs isn't going to guarantee catastrophic failure.
