You will need to get the low profile allen key valley bolts. I am pretty sure that you will not be able to use the stock ls1 coolant crossover pipe. I bought the ls6 crossover pipe and plugs for mine. Some people don't like putting the plugs on the back of the block, but I've had no problems with mine. Other helpful tips...make sure you torque the manifold bolts in the pattern supplied on ls1howto.com. That will help with the gasket seals. Also, you will want to clean around the ports on the head, that way the gasket will have something to stick to. In the end, it really is not hard. I have done 4 intake swaps now, and I can do it in under an hour easily.

you can use the ls6 coolant cross over on the back of the heads if you want to.or you can carefully tap down the ls1 coolant line until the fast intake seats on the heads.

No need to be scared, EVERY LS engine that GM produces has a crossover up front and block off in the back, its been like like that since 2002 AFAIK.
