Default What to do for exahust with spohn torque arm

What setups are you guys running with your spohn's? I managed to get my FLP setup to "work" but its way too much effort to get on and off. Id like to run some kind of dual seup without having to go under the spohn and reduce my ground clearance to zero.

You can do a couple things. The first thing you can do is switch to an LT1 style torque arm bracket. Steve will sell it separate. It's a thinner piece of flatstock that runs across the tunnel instead of the LS1 style that has the dip in it. Then you can run an x-pipe right underneath that.

Another option is to go straight off the header, straight back and out a muffler dumped at the axle. It's bound to be a little louder and some would argue that it may loose ~5 HP, but that doesn't matter much considering it weighs less then what that 5HP will offset. I am switching to the LT1 bracket shortly but will retain the single pipes instead of an X.

If you plan to switch to true duals then sell your Spohn unit and get yourself a Madman, they are the best!

I did a true dual dr gass x with side exits right before the rear tires. I ran one tube through the stock bend section, and the other does a 90 degree bend around the torque arm mounting bracket. It is kind of funky but did the job and sounds crazy. I could take a picture if you really want to see it.

I will go jack up the car and take some pics and email them. I don't have an online photo album to host on.

I have true duals by Lanes Exhaust Shop. I have 3" from the Hooker headers to the x-pipe. Then 2.5" from the x-pipe out to Twister mufflers. Both 2.5" pipes go above the Spohn Torque arm mount, just like the stock i-pipe routed, then side dumps out of the passenger side just before the axle. It's really a sweet set-up.

Any one have any pics with duals under/over the spohn TA tunnel brace. I like the idea of using the LT1 brace . Any pics of that?

Thanks

Thats not my car, but I thought the same thing. If he didn't have the pump there, everything else looks good. Those pics were taken at an exhaust shop right after install, so I'm assuming he was going to move it.

SPANKY LS1: Do you have any info on the pic you posted? Like: Where the exhaust was fabbed at? What kind of material was used to make the system? What torque arm it is? Is the system coated? Thanks.

Looks like the stock torque arm bolts are too short where the arm attaches to rearend housing and weren't replaced with longer bolts. Or is that not an issue?

My Spohn will be here this week. What length bolts do I need? I understand they aren't supplied with the kit, but found out too late after Spohn had already shipped.

You can also just put the X-pipe in that dip and run both 3" pipes w/ bullets dumping on the passenger side. Doesn't have the symmetry of the normal dumped duals, but is hardly noticable and provides much better paths for the pipes while keeping them away from the fuel lines.
