I probably have about 1/8 of an inch. I am pretty sure that is what is hitting. Where my collector and my header meet together underneath I have about 1/2 of an inch. Is that enough?

Try getting some thick rubber, like the elastic bands that you use to hold items down to the back of a truck and cut about a 2 inch piece. Crawl under your car and JB weld the rubber piece to the floorboard where you see little clearance. It will more than likely be a little before your Y-pipe bends on the driver's side. This fixed my Y-pipe banging blues.

Did you not see this answer? It works.

my ory is nailing the drivers floorboard. For the ghetto till i get it done right fix. i used a crowbar and put a valve spring (dont laff) in between. Now i only get k-member knock on WOT instead of alot of part throttle knock (floorboard) crappy *** pacesetter junk. Ordered a poly trans mount. maybe it will help some.

My pacesetter ORY had to be completely rebuilt to fit the car "right". I got rid of it and fabricated my own duals. No more banging, just pure BBC style rumble.
