weak spark

i have new plugs and wires on the car i think its weak because i do a open air spark test with a plug in the wire and the spark looks weak not bright blue like a old style hei ignition so id consiter it weak

George, do all of the sparks look the same or is one visibly weaker than the others? With the individual coil packs of the LS1 they shouldn't all suffer at once. You would most likely have only one coil pack of the 8 go bad. Two at once would be an extreme coincidence and more than that would be of astronomical chance.
BTW, that bad plug I mentioned that went bad on me wasn't very old. Sometimes (but not often) they're bad right out of the box.

(and/or +12V supply?) to the coil packs. Also need the plug to be
well grounded to the block, without a good current return you will
not get a strong spark. Brightness = current.
