At 420+rwhp, every 5-10 rwhp is hard to come by, all the "easy stuff" is done. 11rwhp, with olid gains across the board for a ~$450 investment (after you sell your LS6 intake for $300-$325) is a pretty fair gain per dollar invested, IMO. I would like to see a FAST intake, bored out to 80mm with the BBK 80mm TB on it to see if the stock TB (even a ported stocker is only 75mm) is limiting the gains any.... Not to mention once the porters get ahold of the FAST intake, I'm sure that, with three different pieces making up the intake, there is some room for improvement where ports matching and runners lining up are concerned.

Shawn nailed it... Streetable 500rwhp with a hydraulic might be just around the corner, what other similarly sized engines can be modded to make that kind of power?

You need a motor before you can have an intake Mike

The graph will be up shortly.I haven't really driven my car in over a month and had a rich tune in it from summer. The first pull was 390hp even.Guess I was going the wrong way at the track last time After many pull's I got the A/F back to 12.8-1 to 13.1-1..Then I put on the LSX and surprisingly that was the tune it liked.I tried all different fuel and timing changes.
Also the air sucked.About 15 degree's outside and the air was thin.My best dyno pull before was 432hp in 70 degree heat.Thats why I'm more interested in the gains over the LS6 rather than the over all HP.It gained torque everywhere and up to 15lbs in some spots. The hp was higher acroos the range, but more so above 4500rpm..
I did spend an hour cleaning up the runners a bit,but from what I've seen,it looks like the inlet could use some work.I really believe the TB and MAF is holding back power now..

Also when I ran through the SLP dual dual I lost 15hp/20tq across the rev range..FYI

Ok.. One more promising result from a H/C car and I'm going to spend the income tax money on the 90mm intake and a TB...
Thanks again for the testing!!

Hey Slowhawk,
Did you have to make many tuning adjustments with the swap?

No I didn't.I first tuned the LS6 to the best #'s I could get, then put on the LSX..After that I tried different A/F's and got no more power than the first tune did..I would like to get a 80mm TB and port match the intake.I think another 5-10hp could be had across the rev range..

Soon I'll be testing the 90mm setup on my car.I will also try out a SLP 85mm TB at that time, then I might try to port it to 90mm and see if it helps.

Slowhawk, do you think having an 85MM MAF w/90MM TB will reduce/restrict all that much flow? I'm thinking maybe a 5 RWHP loss using the 85MM MAF.

We'll see, but it won't hurt to try out.I have access to a dyno anytime I need it,so I like testing different things.

I'm surprised no one's coming out with a 90-95mm MAF and lid?

I'll wait till someone dyno's a full bolt-on internally stock LS1 with the 90mm LSX intake before I buy one. I'm still on the LS1 intake so it should be a huge improvement no matter what
