i would think about the flowtech's...i got mine headers and y-pipe for 400...plus i had free shipping...i had no problems with the install...didn't have to notch the k-member or shave the block...plus the y-pipe is not crushed like the pacesetter's..plus i like the headers and y flanged..easier to work on...quality of the flow are average...kind of crappy welds here and there, but overall not bad for 400 for everything...just my 02...

i did have 1 dented primary, but nothing to worry about and the y pipe did have 2 sections that were kinda dented in...but i would rather have dented primaries and y then have to notch my k-member or grind the block..just my 02 guys..imo the flow tech y is wayyyyy better than pacesetter's...

how bad is the dent in the primary? sounds like a bad idea to me, but i'm just curious how much it might restrict. is there room in the y for cats? i have to pass emissions.

I've heard a clip of Pacesetters and their ORY on LS1sounds.com and personally I think the pacesetters sound like *** around 3000 RPMs. You can definately tell the ORY really inhibits exhaust flow. I would go with Jet hots, hookers, or flowtech because they are all based on the same blueprint and I've not heard anything bad about these...I think the jet hots have the O2's on the inside though. IMO, any header that requires cutting my k-member in order to fit isn't worth the money...but thats me

i have the Pacesetter headers as well...weren't too bad to install...had the same problems as everyone else, i started to dremel away at the K-member...was taking forever so instead i just stuck a lil piece of hi-temp heater hose...seems to be holding fine and there's no banging...i did the same for my pacesetter ypipe...i'm probably going to go true duals as well pretty soon...ohh and one UNEXPECTED problem that i ran into with the headers was that the bung for the O2 sensor for the drivers side header was welded SHUT, the passanger one was fine but we had to get a drill and drill out the weld so the O2 would go in...kinda odd

btw i've never seen Hooker headers (uninstalled) in person before but i saw a pic of them online somewhere...how come their ports are rectangular shaped? the pacesetters are circular which match the engine...

the primary's are slightly dented, not like a huge dent or nothing..it's minor..it's either dented primary's or hacking your k-member up..the y pipe is indented in 2 spots, and it's not nearly as crushed as the pacesetter..and you won't have enough room for cats on the y-pipe..one side you have 14inches of room the other side ya got about 12 inches..hope this helps..

have ya ever looked at your stock kmember? its already cut and welded in the same spot you have to cut whats next your gonna knock GM? If you think every aftermarket part is gonna fit like a glove on every car your fooling yourself...not to say pacesetter couldnt have done something differently maybe they too shouldve dented up that one primary that touches im assuming that wouldve made you happier? lol

you dont HAVE to shave the block during a pacesetter install which im assuming your talking about...im sure you could get it in by taking out the steering shaft like some have done but why waste your time with that...it takes all of about a minute to cut off the tab using a sawsal...i just dont understand why people make such a big deal about little stuff.

whoever said i was knocking gm? i was just saying why should a person have to carve up there car for a pair of headers to fit? some might but not me..i don't mind making little adjustments here and there but when you have to fab up a piece of rubber so the y don't bang...

what makes the o2 bungs on the outside a bad thing? dont the extensions take care of that? is there a problem with the car reading the o2 sensors on the outside of the tube?

Get a Pro Fab tubular K member and A arms and you won't have to cut anything for the Pace Setters to clear. Get rid of 40 pounds at the same time.

The Pace Setters do have some major fit problems with their Y pipe hitting and being crushed. I fixed that though with this:

And my collector mod:
