Default Flowtech or Pacesetter LTs?

Hey guys! I'm kind of stuck between either getting the new Flowtech LTs (from Speedinc) or getting the Pacesetter LTs. They seem to be both the same price. I've heard good things about Pacesetter except for the K member issue. I've heard also that the Flowtechs are the same design as the hooker LT which I have heard a lot of good from as well. What should I do? Any opinions or experiences with either of these headers would be awesome, thanks a lot guys!

Here is the info about the new
Flowtech LTs:http://www.ls1speed.com/catagory.cfm?catagory=exhaust
What are the advantages of the Flowtechs over the Pacesetters if any that you can see? Thanks again!

depends on how you look at the situation...the flowtechs i know are flanged and i believe they have the o2 sensor bungs on the outside...we all know the issues slps have with ground clearance and flanges hitting against speed bumps and crap...as far as the o2 sensor bungs ive just heard of install clearance issues so take that FWIW. Personally I love my pacesetters and would buy them again in a heartbeat JMO.

One thing that I can tell you about Pacesetters is that the install isn't that bad. If you read all of the Pacesetter threads going around it doesn't take that long to know what to look for while doing the install. If you own a Sawzall the K member thing is really easy to take care of, if you even need to notch it, I notched the K member in my car just as a precaution, but in the end I wouldn't have needed to. The only other thing is weather you want to disconnect your steering shaft or use the same sawzall you used on the K member to cut that annoying little piece of aluminum off of the drivers side of the block.

The worse part about doing a header job is getting all of the old stuff off, afterthat the install is really easy.

As far as Flowtech's go, I don't know how they fit, so I would vote for Pacesetter.

Too close too call but if anything the Hookers could show slightly higher gains I would think.

The main gains that I've seen with the Pacesetters is in my wallet, don't think that they would dyno any higher than Hookers.

yah pacesetters have dynoed between 15-25hp untuned so i really dont think there are many/any headers out there that will really "outperform" them...personally i like to save money so those were my option and flowtech's are too new for most to even try.

The sound is night & day from your current set up.

I plan to go with the Pacesetters from TSP Gotta hurry before everyone else buys them up, they have a post in the Sponsor GP forum right now, only 35 sets let at those prices. Looks like you are basicly getting free shipping, so that is not a bad deal IMO

We will be adding the Flowtech headers to the website when they are available. Our Flowtech rep said a few sets have been ordered but no headers have shipped yet. When headers do arrive we will test them just like we did the Pacesetters

I can't speak for anyone else with pacesetters, but I knocked off .5 secs and gained 5 mph with them over my manifolds and cats(that is more than 15-20 rwhp for sure). For the price, you can't beat them as compared to hooker or jet hot or the like. If there is a difference in power between them, you won't feel or see it. Get pacesetters, you won't be sorry. But DO NOT get there y-pipe. It is a complete POS!

Do a search, if I remember correctly their is a question about a Mufflex y-pipe that will fit the Pacesetters.

Being priced the same, with likely similar performance, similar flange and gauge steel, it will be a tough decision. That is why we carry both

The Hooker/Jet-Hot/Pacesetter header are all the same tube length and configuration. The only real difference is flange thickness, and the guage of mild steel used for the tubes. The performance difference between the three should be nearly indistinguishable.

Toxic, I'm running their Y pipe and didn't have that many problems with it, but I was ready, everything was fixable with a SawZall & some band clamps. The only reason that I'm running the Pacesetter Y is price. As soon as I get some cash together I'm going with true duals & an X pipe. One thing that I did with my Y pipe was to space everything out, I shimmed everything up with spacers before I tightened everything down. Then once I got everything tight I just removed all of the shims & I had big enough gaps everywhere so I don't have any problems with a banging Y pipe.

I do a lot of mechanic work, so what I think of as a minor problem with the Pacesetter Y, can be a big issue to someone without the proper tools & experience to do the job. In a perfect world I wouldn't have had to modify the Y pipe at all though.
