TR-55s and TR-6s are the most common choice. I find they idle well and that's why I like 'em. The TR-6 is one range colder than the TR-55 and is the most popular choice for running nitrous. I like it for running NA as well because it helps in fighting detonation. I find that I can run just a smidge leaner at WOT without pinging and I like that. BTW, the TR-6 comes gapped at about .039 instead of the .055 or so that the TR-55 comes gapped at. I'd re-gap them to about .045-.049 for NA use (a narrow gap can cost you just a couple of ponies.)

As far as there being any REAL HP difference between plugs, no.

Yep. They are cheap to buy, last quite a while, and work great.

Yet another TR55 fan. I left them gapped at .055 the way they came, and they are great compared to the Bocsh platinums I took out. Fixing the #4 coil pack didn't hurt either.

I think any gain I would see would be frmo an old battered plug, to a brand new clean plug. At around what mileage should I change them?

I pulled my stock ones at about 5K miles, and was already missing one or two of the platinum tips/disks or whatever you want to call them.

NGK TR55s should last at least 20-30K depending on what type pf driving you do. TR6s about half that, from what I've heard....
