Arrow LT Headers: Am I good to go?

I am about to purchase a set of LT headers with catted y-pipe. I understand that I also need to get the 02 extensions. I do not have AIR or EGR on my car right now but I would like to run cats with the new setup. Is it true that the life of my cats will be shortened due to the !AIR? Also, is there anything else I need for this install besides the 3 things mentioned above? Do new header gaskets usually come with a new set of headers? Thanks for the help.

Plenty of cars runs cats without AIR. It's more of a cold-start emissions thing, as far as I know.

Header gaskets normally come with headers, but you'd be better off just picking up a set of OEM GM MLS gaskets to use.

you arent gonna hurt your cats with no AIR, but get the race headers so there isnt any hook-ups for the AIR on the new pipes, I just got done doing my headers about 2 hours ago, not too hard of an install just takes lots of cigarettes beer and time haha good luck

Did you install your headers with a lift? I am wondering if it is worth the trouble installing them with the car on jackstands.

I did it on jack stands. Just get the car really high up and it helps a ton if you have someone to help you. The hardest part for me was getting the drivers side header up there.

What he said, driver side header took alittle force to go up there. Passenger side slid up no problem. I reused the stock header gaskets and bolts.

So you installed them without having to remove any components? (Besides the headers themselves obviously)

just had to remove the plugs and wires, obviously, and i did them on jack stands, had the front stands all the way up sitting on 2x6's stacked and had to put the rear end up on stands to get a good angle to get the passenger side header in place, the headers wernt that hard to install, buy the TSP y-pipe that i bought wouldnt bolt up, so im headed to the exhaust shop tomorrow to get it fabbed in

Ok, Yeah I'm looking to get Pacesetter headers with the TSP catted y-pipe. Im hoping it will fit well. Seems like TSP's y-pipe is made for the Pacesetter so should be ok. What headers are u running?

Seems like lately the headers aren't hard to install, but Y pipes are hit and miss.
So with light mods how much of a difference do the LT's make SOTP wise?

LTs are generally a 20 to 30 hp gain over stock manifolds, so you should definitely notice a SOTP difference, IMO. Kinda feels like they wake the car up a bit.

im running pacesetter inch and 3/4 headers and a TSP catted Y, right now the car is at the exhaust shop and they are trying to get the Y to work. the y-pipe fitted just fine over the collectors the pipe was just angled badly and the drivers side cat looked like it was gonna scrape badly,

the way its turning out im probly gonna have to scrap the TSP and get a compleatly different mid pipe

I think it just makes it easier to install the headers without another person helping, but I might be wrong.

it makes it easier by allowing you to just through the gasket on and not have to hold the header + gasket up while trying to put the header bolts in.
