01 Trans am odd starting issue
01 Trans am odd starting issue 01 Trans am, auto 75,000 miles....bone stock, been pampered all its life. When you put the key in and turn the ignition forward to start it cranks and cranks but wont start....strong cranks but not so much as a sputter. Key back to normal and try it again and it immediately bangs off and runs without a hitch. Is this a fuel pump or regulator issue?
Next time you start it, turn the key to accessory and listen for the fuel pump to prime. Once it does, start it. If it starts fine after doing that, it's probably the fuel pump.
I have a friend that had a similar issue, and it was neither, can't remember what it was though. It was very simple though. I will check with him and let you know.

Alright, my friend's problem was the ignition relay. You could give that a shot. But if you try to start like I said and it fires up after you let it prime, I'd about guarantee that it's a fuel pump.

bad pcm lol too many things it could be...

fuel pump idea is a great place to start .. you can use a oldschool timing lights inductive pickup on one of the wires to
see if your getting spark or do the Pollock method and use a screwdriver to a ground those coils will zap yah good
though...
