Motor Mounts
Motor Mounts I'm putting an LS2 into my car and I figured it would be a good time to do the motor mounts as well.
Who has any suggestions as far as poly mounts go? Who makes some good ones?
Also, how do you go about putting them in? Just drop them in there?

I got some Prothane Polyurethane motor mounts from summit racing when I did my headers. On my application the mounts are the poly mount but you reuse the stock clamshell, so you have to drill the rivets out and pull the old rubber out of the clam shell then put the new poly mount in and you bolt the clamshell back together with bolts they send you. Installation was not that bad really, had some trouble getting the bolt holes to line up for the pedestal that mounts to the k member but after some cussing and swearing and light persuation I got them in.
Overall, how do you like the mounts? Are you happy with the purchase? Do you wish you went solid? Any differences on how it drives?

I am actually very happy with them. The only difference I can feel is a little bit more vibration in the car from the mounts. The stock mounts are much softer and dampen some of the vibration from the motor but I love the vibration feel. Its more like a race car feel to me. I don't know of any superior brands, there always Energy poly mounts but the Prothanes are pretty popular also.

I've got solid mounts in my car...didn't notice any new vibrations (although I have dumped duals and all rod-end suspension, so it may be I just can't feel anything any more 
) and the car feels tighter overall. I was surprised at the difference they made, because my stockers weren't bad at all.
Only downside to solids is that they'll raise the engine some, and guys who are making a lot of power and running pretty quick still run polys. I have this sadistic urge to make my car as nasty as possible, so I went solids, but I wouldn't second-guess about not running solids if you stick with polys. Either's going to be a big upgrade over stock.
