It really boils down to sound. As far as power, I swapped my duals back to a y setup using TSP's new Y and didnt loose any time at the track. I was surprised actually. My duals sounded mean as hell and I loved them, but the noise was getting to be too much for a daily. I would think alot of flow would be needed with more cubes or boosted applications.
