Spohn/Madman solid mounts. They add room, drop weight, don't add any more knock, look nice, and they don't add any harshness in the ride.

Madman won`t sell them any more cracking blocks. Use Prothane urathane mounts. We also stock them.

get an old pair of mounts before you do the prothane. That way you can make the prothane (they use the existing clamshell) before you start your endeavour. maybe some shop can throw you some old mounts for free.

i didn't know the prothane required the existing clamshells till i read the docs. i just let the mechanic handle it.

I only heard of a couple of guys that cracked a block with them. One was Harlan, and the other was one of Madman's cars. If I was pulling that kind of power, I'd go to a motor plate anyway. I never heard of any car that ran slower then low 10s have any problems.

Prothane mounts here too. Install can be kind of a PITA, but very worth it IMO. FWIW, I noticed very little difference between the driver's side only mount and both poly mounts.

None of my cars cracked blocks. I just feel a motor plate is safer.

I think I am gonna swap out for some prothane mounts while my engine is out. I may as well,, plus my motor was bouncing around pretty bad so this should help.

Thats part of the problem, I bought the car as a roller. Some of the parts like mounts I didnt get. So the search is on. Thanks John.

It takes 5 mins to swap them out. If you can do the rest of the work (which is 100x harder), why let a mechanic swap out the mounts from the clamshell? Seems backwards to me...

I have poly mounts also. changed them at same time as I swapped motors so it was pretty easy. I noticed some increase in vibration, but I installed the poly tranny mount at same time so that could be the culprit.

Let me know if you need some help buying some mounts from ebay or something John. OBTW, John will be transplanting his Cartek 427 from his 10.4 2000 C5 into what used to be Sean Freese's car.
