Damn now that's what I'm talking about! Great results from simple add ons.. I bet your throttle response improved as well

Here is the whole story. Andrew at CSP confirmed my thoughts on the 85mm MAF as he sees about 8hp average gains on cars he does. HP/$ this is a great mod. Even without the screen he nailed the tune its butter smooth.

Disc0monkey what kind of coupler did you use to make the 85MM maf work with the slp lid?

ebay

3.5" 89mm 3-Ply Silicone Coupler Hose Intake Turbo Pipe

$9 just kiss the MAF to the lid they are both the same ID. trimmed around the IAT.

The way I look at it this MAF was used on every LS engine at that time but our cars, most likely because they didn't want to spend money redesigning the lid. Andrew at CSP brought up a good point that the MAFs are getting older and dirtier and doesn't hurt to freshen it up with this cheap, readily available MAF.

idk mines with out a screen and its smooth as butter but my tuner is good. if you have a massive cam with cam surge you may need the screen for added low engine speed stability. i have no issues, the screen was a big enough restriction that GM took it out of 02+ Z06s.
