Default impact plastic behind bumper

Im in the procerss of making a CAI for my 02 Z28 and i need to rempove the styrofoam behind the bumper, will this hurt anything?

bumper mite sag a little and wont be support as well, But alot of guys on here including myself remove it for weight reduction.

Just remove it. Just make sure your brakes are up to par.becuz you just lost 2feet of protection!!!!!!!!

I say remove it. Had it removed on my 01z and just had a slightly saggy bumper nothing bad though.

removed mine. no probs here either. sag was barely noticeable

The sag will worsen overtime esp if the car is parked outdoors in the sun
