Well, you're comparing 2 long tubes (Hooker and Pacesetter) vs. a mid-length (MAC).

The LT's will make more power.

Hooker lt's put more power to the wheels than macs, and pacesetters fit like ****. Personally I would not put anything on my car that requires grinding the block tab or k member .

if its too much grinding the tab off just udue the motor mount and jack up the motor so it will fit in im sure thats much easier for you to do as far as the kmember goes that 30 seconds it takes to cut an 1/8in off in my eyes is worth the $120 i saved by purchasing pacesetters instead of hookers

Pacesetter just needs to spend some money and do a little angle adjusting on the tubes so that you dont have to grind anything .

I would like to see a dyno graph with the three, or at least MAC vs. another long tube to see if they MACs are giving up anything to the longtubes.

I have heard from lots of people to just keep the macs that it isn't worth the money to switch over to a longtube, but I still hear the other side that says the LT's will make more power, but how much is the question.

So does anyone have a graph of macs vs. any longtube given the same heads/cam combo?

Exactly. Why is that such a big deal to some people?

run 34 is MACs, MAC ORY, magnaflow exh. TEA stage 1.5 heads, 216/220 comp cam, M6, 12 bolt/3.90s

run 38 is Grott headers, FMS 3" Y-pipw and hooker exh, you can see its a little richer with the LTs and there is an excellent under peak power gain.

Track results, same track one week apart, similar DA, 12.08 @ 116 (1.740 60') MACs, 11.86 @ 117.5 with a 1.727 60' Made me a believer in LTs. But then again I have MACs again on the car - they were here and free

I have installed 2 sets of MACs and dropped both sets in from the top with no grinding or cutting. I am having true duals installed today and am having the ball flange cut off to allow more flow.

From what I understand the Hookers are very similar to the Jet Hots and the Jet Hots require cutting/grinding the K member as well so why not just get the Pacesetters and save some cash anyway?

Also the new Flowtech LTs (similar to the Hooker/Jet Hots supposedly) should be added to the list.

If you guys want maximum power from headers then go with Kooks. They make more power over any of the other LT's and they fit so much better. I have seen 3 pairs be installed and they all just want to fall out from under the car if you don't bolt them up. and when i say fall i mean they do it without really hitting much. If you want great fitment and the best power then go with the Kooks.

OMG kids...what time are your parents coming to pick you up?

there is not a single header out there that hasnt caused someone to grind the block. Which btw is a 13 second mod. There is not a single header out there that has not caused someone to grind the K member. Which might i add is another 13 second mod. Dyno wise we all know the ls1/6 is a very non consistant motor as far as #'s go. LT should make more power.

Macs are nice mid length headers. They are not carb legal and these days you can get LT cheaper. Some LT (pacesetters) even have MORE ground clearance.
