Worth porting an LS6 int with my setup?
I really want a FAST intake, but I think it may be a while before I'll get my hands on one.. Maybe I can find a used 85mm TB for cheap..
Anyway, specs in sig.. Heads, cam, P+P'd LS6 heads from Wheel2Wheel... Would it be worth anything to have my LS6 intake sent out to have it worked over?? Since the car is down for the winter, I can live without an intake for a couple weeks or a couple months.
Any sponsors here gimme a good deal on it? Mamo? How much would it run?
Here's my dyno graph, for *****.. This car climbs to and levels off at 6500, so it'll rev good and strong.
I think they just chopped it at 3500.

Plenty of info on this site where I opened up the mouth of an LS6 w/an 85mm TB & logged the resulting airflow & MAP @ WOT. The stock intake can be opened by sacrificing the gasket & using silicone for the seal. Search is your friend. You're gonna have to re-scale the MAF whether or not you DIY or go w/the TPIS. Others have posted the TPIS results.
It's basically the same without the cost.

^ Yeah.. I've seen the LS6-90mm thing before.. I wasjust wondering if someone could just take a little out or if it was worth a couple bucks.. I've had a local tuner tell me to quit messing around with this intake with my set up and just get the FAST, but I guess I'm just looking for a cheap upgrade. IIRC, the intake can fit an 85mm TB with the spacer, but not sure it'd be worth $600+ for the porting, FAB work + a new TB, ducting and MAF.. By that time it'd be about paying for a FAST anyway..
Meh.. I'll figure it out.

Ive got a better solution....
I have a used Mamo ported FAST 90 that Im selling CHEAP ($700).....it's a customers intake that I took in on trade and am helping him sell. It has a few small issues but is functionally perfect.
PM me for details....I was just about to put this in the parts section but thought it was worth a mention here quickly as well.
Thanks,
Tony
