I like to let mine dry for a little while also and i dont listen to 80's **** music while cleaning it.

I use a kitty litter tray filled with water and a paint brush to get the muck out of mine.

Your suppose to rinse it from inside out so that it pushes out the dirt

Yeah reverse flowing the water is a good idea.

The easiest way I cleaned my last one was to throw it away and buy a paper filter though.

oh my god, who ever that was they over oiled the filter. that may cause severe engine damage and other problems.

just to clarify, i use a k&n and was only joking about engine damage.

I agree with tossing it in the garbage and replacing it with a paper filter. It's a one step process.
