As it's been said already plenty of times above, I got the Kooks stepped 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 headers and for the short while I drove the car they sounded UNREAL with the Kooks ORY and Corsa Catback. My car is in the process of getting a crate LS6 engine and cam so it should be interesting to see and hear the difference when she comes out on the other side. =)

Put kook's 1 7/8th's on last December. With ls6 intake, 4.11 gears, 3" to 4" y with cutout, lid, and 3630lbs raceweight I hit 114mph traps numerous times. I bought the 1 7/8ths knowing that eventually I'd be bigger cubes or f/i. Well now that I blew the stock engine last month.....I'll be doing just that and I won't have to upgrade the exhaust.

Depends a lot on what you want to spend on headers. Most major companies 1 7/8" headers make very similar power. Our TSP 1 7/8" headers sell for well under $500 fully ceramic coated. Some companies offer stainless headers uncoated in the mid $700 range. Just really depends on what your looking for, both options will work very well for you.

Jason,

I would not hesitate to purchase your 1 7/8" if I knew I was going to stay in Texas. But, as of right now there is a possibility I could move to Missouri or even South Dakota. With those weather conditions, mainly the snow and salt, etc. I believe the ceramic coating will not be up to the task as it barely withstood Florida weather on another set of headers I owned.

Default SLP (Tuned Length) Long Tube Headers

I like everything about my SLPs other than it's lovely ground clearance. SLP now caries a (non-tuned length) version that doesn't have a ground clearance issue. ... If not, look at Kooks.

My Exhaust Set-Up!

1) SLP Long Tubes (Tuned Length)
2) SLP Y-Pipe
3) SLP "LM1" / Loud Mouth 1
4) SLP "High Flow" (gutted)
5) Tuned by Charlie at RPM

NOTE: ... DON'T plan on "slamming"/"drop" the car or go over speed bumps. Figure out how to clear pipes in your engine bay from the engine harness.

Your right! Theyre 1 3/4 NOT 1 7/8. I spaced!
