Yes,ive searched....
Im doing a LS6 intake swap on my 2001 LS1.
Do i REALLY need the LS6 valley cover and steam tubes?

I've been doing some research also and I found that the valley cover does not need to be changed. LS1howto has the swap details.

I believe the 01-02 ls1's already have ls6 intakes. You should check the part number on your intake.

Yea sold it.i checked out the part number before i sold it and it was a Ls1 intake.
Like i said,i think i got ripped of cause of the intake and the engine had 853 heads

You don't need anything extra. Just chizel the bottom fins off the ls6 intake and ur good to go.

When i searched,i saw some questions poppng up about changing the valley cover.i figured i would have to do this as well.

Also,im doing a H/C/I swap,do i need larger injectors?

You might have an ls1 out of like a 99 wich would mean you only have the 26lb injectors. You will probably be fine with stock injectors though

I got it cheap,900 documented miles,for 220 bucks.i got my 799 heads with a shortblock for 175.

You should sell those heads and get CNC'd LS6 heads.

I used a chisel on mine and kept the LS1 style steam tubes.
