Thumbs up Evans Water pump GP

Evans Cooling Systems Inc has just released a new highflow LS1-6 water pump. The billet coolant pump and pulley flows over 20% more than stock and changes the cooling pattern for a more even cooling. The pump increases cooling efficiency in modified LS1 Corvettes, Camano’s and LS1 based motors. Evans has changed the design of the OEM pump casting and includes a billet pulley hub and heavy duty 3/4" shat bearing assembly. It also includes a 3.8" OD 8 vane scrolled impeller to reduce parasitic horsepower loss at high RPM. A new serpentine belt is required.

I heard that the Mezeire electric water pumps had a problem, where if it was dropped or handeled roughly that the internals of it could cause a failure because of their design, is the actual PUMP the same design as the mezeire and is there anything you would have to worry about, such as it failing after only a few hundred miles?

This is not an electric pump, and the Evans flows more then stock or the Meziere, so I imagine the design would not be close to the same.

How long is the GP good for? Also, do you have any pictures of one with the ceramic coating?

We need 10 orders to make this happen, I could run it for one month-March 13th. No pictures as of yet they are still at the coaters I will have some soon. It does look good though very shiny.

It is a far different product to the Mezeire pump and for different uses. It is the same casting as stock remachined for better flow and distribution. It also uses far better bearings and internals then stock. I would use this product on any motor I build. It was designed to cool the big cube Darton blocks better.

very cool, I noticed that noone was getting HP gains from the electric, Since this isnt electric and flows better then this might be something I need to look at getting in the near future, preciate clearing everything up.;

C'mon guys! No one had a problem putting up $500+ for the Meziere GP (including me) I haven't even received the Meziere yet and have pretty much decided not to use it on a mostly street driven car due to reliability reasons (why bother installing a part that is neither reliable nor does it net any HP gains).

As soon as I get my Polished Meziere it will be for sale. Until then can't we get enough interest on these to make the GP a go?

Nate - I just purchased a set of HS Rockers from you - I'll buy one of these pumps w/coating right now at the GP price you state (I will send in my core for machining) Regardless of whether the GP goes or not.

$$ in hand right now is much better - especially if the GP doesn't make it.

Send me a PM...

Thanx
-Jay-

Woo Hoo! I'll give ya a call later today Nate

I noticed your description states that a belt must be ordered - I just purchased an ASP UD Crank Pulley and the corresponding belt for 'crank pulley only' I think the Gates P/N is 760K6 - will this belt work with the Evans pump or did I just waste some more $$?

What would be the estimated time of delivery for a coated pump if I send in my core to machine?

Jay in your case I think you will need a different belt altogether. I am not positive on your size I would need to measure it I think a 1/2" shorter 755. I think they have them on the shelf ready to go then we just swap yours out.

I think I have enough for this to go through. I just need everyone interested to call with the order. And I can get it rolling.

Another note the Evans T-stat is requiered for the extra flow of the new pump. The stock t-stat does not flow enough. $49.95 with purchase.

Thanks for the orders Nate

I ordered a new Evans WP from Nate.

So my stock WP is for sale at $50, if
anyone needs a core, instead of giving
up your WP.

I could ship it in as your core,
to save you shipping....

email me at lindadave83@hotmail.com

Nate, you da man...

WP came today, looks good, it is installed.
Evans even supplied a pair of OEM WP gaskets,
for the install , the good ones...
No testing untill April 1...

Tips.....
My t-stat didn't come with an o-ring.
Don't forget to check yours.

If you have a Katech idler setup, you don't need a new belt.
Katech can be easily adjusted for this.
Circumferance is only 1" less than stock WP pulley.

If you have ASP pulley with 76" belt, get a 75" if you don't
have the Katech idler setup.
