Default SLP or Hooker headers

Which would you recommend? I know someone that is selling some brand new SLP LT's for around $400 but was debating between these and the Hooker LT's.

I had SLP's for like 2 years and now have hookers..why'd I switch? ground clearence..the SLP's hit on every damned thing taller than a pebble..I smashed mine up good with stock ride height, when I decided to lowe the front with Hal's i knew i would be screwed so I sold em and got hookers, no problems at all. i didn't really like the design of the slp's either, i think the hookers will make more power. i got slp only cuz they were the only longtube desing other than G-hanns available in spring of 01.

Hooker all the way, more power, more ground clearence, and better design. Definitly get the coated ones tho. Or you could get some headers from jet hot, they make there headers off the design of hooker so are pretty much the same thing and make the same power, plus they are coated and are a little cheaper than coated hookers.

Hookers or Pacesetters.

They cost less, easier to install and produce as much power (I gained more than my buddies SLP long tubes).

SLP LTs for $400 (brand new) That's a good price!!!

I'm still happy with my Slp LT's despite others' criticism. SLP LTs make the same hp as everyone else out there +/- 5hp. I also don't have ground clearance issues, but I haven't lowered my car either (probably won't).

Try Flowtech, A sister company to hooker, exact same design, and same quality, I got a set of coated headers and an uncoated Y pipe for $509 shipped. There are a few posts about them on here.

go to LS1 speed inc, and check them out, they are a sponsor here.......

buy the SLP headers if in fact they are brand new and sell them to some blind loyal slp fan. they'll pay 700-750 for them . then take that 700 bucks you get and get some kooks/qtp

DON'T waste your money on Pacesetter's unless you get them coated. Trust me on this, I thought I was getting a deal on those things then two weeks later they warped from the heat and I had a grimey exhaust leak. Now I've got Hooker ceramic LT's w/ no problems at all. Besides, Hooker has been around forever, I'm pretty sure they know what they are doing. Hope you make the right decision!

I've installed Pacesetters on a 98Z and after after grinding the K member and denting a tube for clearance, they still bang. And that's the headers, The Y was even worse. If trying to decide only between Hookers and SLPs, then definately the Hookers.

Definately Hookers they'll have better clearance and perform much better than SLP. Pacesetters have alot of fitment issues.
