And also, I think the ETC TB's are more of a bitch to tune than our cable operated TB's because of the separate IAC. But the MAIN thing I noticed is the 102 has near instant throttle response!

There was a thread about a month ago on here about air straighteners. I can't remember if anyone actually tested one or not. I remember someone saying something about the MAF has to be so many inches or feet away from a bend because as the air comes out of the bend the air bounces off the inside of the straight pipe. I "think" thats why they suggest to clock the MAF @ 3 o'clock to catch the air coming out of the bend. If that makes any sense.

I talked to Geoff@EPS a while back about tuning the 102's. He said the first design didn't have the hump behind the blade to help low speed air control but the newer ones do. He told me the DBW were a little tricky to tune but that's been several months back now. They might have gotten the whole thing straightened out by now.

There is no gain unless you already have the fat injectors like I did. If you have to buy new ones then I would buy the skinny ones.

Because the skinny ones fit better. Maybe were not understanding your question.

2. I think it needs to be a "skinny" injector to fit into the FAST's lower shell. The rail should be an LS2 or LS2 style. If not, just take precautions to avoid fuel leaks.

3. If you look close enough, there care a few people who make 100+mm parts. I've got a FTP 104mm lid for now... (but we @ 6LE designs are designing our own 104 lid. We're even going to offer then in clear. But hey are pretty nice, and might even have a slightly better airflow design and a little more volume. )

Calloway, TSP and someone else even make 100mm MAF's.

There are even a few companies like TSP, FAST, Nick Williams and Godspeed that make 102mm TB's.

See, if you look around enough...or lurk around enough you'll find everything you're looking for.

3) Well I am planning on running a NW 102 as I'm running the 92 right now with no issues whatsoever. Furthermore I'm running a SD tune without issues, and plan to keep it that way so MAF's aren't really a concern to me. When it comes to lids I'm running a FastToys 85mm and though its a good design and is strong it does have flaws. Its not the designers fault, there is no damn room to make the lid necks any bigger. Thats the problem with these "102 mm" lids. The funnel leading into the neck is 102mm and the opening where the MAF fits in is 102mm but the neck itself in the middle tapers down to damn near 80mm. Thats not a 102mm lid, thats a 85mm lid that fits a 102mm MAF.

Thats my problem, I want an intake design thats thinking outside the box. That has an actual 100mm opening from filter to TB.

Getting ready to do this mod on my Vette and this thread has provided some great info.

I shaved the letters and smoothed everything up. Plugged the MAP boss with a plastic plumbing trim cap.

And polished the fuel rails and NW 102 TB

lot of good info here. I just bought a 102 ls1 style and also got the fual rail kit from fast with the fuel lines as well. My question is what does it take to make my injectors work. As funny as this will sound I have ford red top 30lbs injectors will these work or should I use fast 36lbs injectors(part # 303600)

The "skinny" injectors are what the manifold is made to use. People make the "fat" ones work (by doing some trimming), but you're supposed to use new "skinny" style injectors.

But also, isn't a little 36 lb. injector WWWWAAAAYYY too small for a 427? I'm going to run 60's on my 402, unless they end up being too big.

From what iv been reading yes they seem to be a little small. Come late fall/winter im changing a few things so at that time I will look into diff injectors. Doing my swap this weekend is it ok to leave the map sensor on the back of the intake(102)? Iv seen others mount it on the front right behind the TB? just personal preference?

I just got a killer deal on a 102 and a ptm 102 tb off a good friend that was used for 3 months, hes going turbo and victor jr so he hooked me up with this setup. I am prepared for all the fitment issues after reading this and so on, and I can handle all that without a problem, but my question is if not going sd tune, what mafs are most of you going to be running, my current setup was the ftp 98 lid with a delphi 85 maf smooth bellow and ls6 intake. ill be keeping my lid because its brand new, but i assume running the 85 maf would be restricting airflow a good amount or am i wrong. just need some advice here, thanks. also spun a rod bearing in my car after 1200 miles on my new heads/cam setup, blows but it happens, so i have all winter to figure this out.

Just some personal data. I took the 102 off my car because it seemed to have no low end power. Installed the 92mm fast throttle body and its alot better! Blowes the tires off on the hit at 3200 rpm instead of bogging like usual with the 102 tb... Just my .02¢

ok. I have done a mach up of my fast 102 with fast fuel rails and skinny injectors. Can I bolt it all up fuel rails on with injectors in and still be able to get the bolts in to instal in car?? meaning can i tighten all down(rails with injectors) then instal on the car? going in an F-Body

What injectors/fuel rails are you using?

With the FAST rails you can use either the LS1/6 or LS2 injectors but you have to use the correct brackets for each.

I believe you can use a stock LS2/LS3 injector rail but have to use the same style injectors as the rail.
