*General* FAST LSXr 102 thread
#142
Hopefully I have the skinnies. Find out when I get home from work.

Well I looked at my injectors and found the part# 01D0308. From google, I'm guessing these are Delphi/ Lucas 42 lb fuel injectors 01D0308. They are all black. Will these work with the FAST 102?
#144
^ It's not the rails, it's the injectors. I can't use the fatties, I need the skinny injectors. Running billet rails too. And I got the intake through Mamo. Not seeing anything about it on the FAST site.
I'm just frustrated is all. It just seems like I always find out AFTER the fact.
Thanks for the find. I just never heard anyone telling me that these won't work until now so I didn't even think about the possibility. Saw one guy who responded to my WTT thread who's running them, but I wonder. Like that thread stated "My rule of thumb is that there should be no interference on the side of the inector causing any deflection which can stress the seal at the o-ring." This is making me wonder what that person did the get them to work, if they work at all and weren't ditched after a month.
And oddly enough, searching through Google works better than searching on here. (for Tech threads)

So how much does it really cost is the question I have. FAST 102 intake,102mm throttle body, porting by Tony,Rails,Injectors,And time to grind the water pump.Am I missing anything? Oh what about the MAF and the lid or the SD tune if deleting the MAF? Wow
#146
A lot of money. I've spent a few weeks researching this and getting all the part numbers and about to start ordering. Now I have to deal with this injector issue (whether my Delphi 01D0308 42# will work). It's starting to get very irritating and I haven't even got the parts to start installing.
#147
The way its looking to me if you buy every thing in the 102mm , intake ,TB ,injector rails ,injectors , air lid, tuning. i would say in the ball park of $2000.00 and if you deside to have custom port work done it can even go higher
#148
It will definitely be over 2k when you add the tune in.
Got my questions answered by Bill @ FIC. I'm in the same boat as Bayer, but without the parts in hand. I need new injectors as well. This is getting ridiculous. Looks like my tax return is going to vanish.

^ I didn't even GET a tax return. I sold off an expensive hobby to fund this. Sold/selling stock parts, so not a lot of this came out of my pocket, even though I made a lot of money during the snow season. But as any professional driver knows, you spend a LOT of it on the road.
And it is rather frustrating. And the reason I never asked, was because I had to reason to think otherwise. Anyone who is posting in here is looking for information on what is needed to swap the intake and what it involves. I didn't know that the intake needed certain injectors. Alike everything else with this PITA swap. MOST of the reason I started this thread. It will put most of the gripes and stuff to watch out for in one thread.

hey, i got my intake a couple of month back from the N20 outlet for a direct port install. Problem now is that when i went to put it on the car the 2 nos solenoids would rub against the cow since i got to put it in, on an angle. It looks like once i get it in there clearance between the cowl and the nos noids wont be much, any ideas on how can i modify the cowl without loosing the wipers?

It's isn't rocket science fellas. I'm building my FAST 102 set-up as well, and I'm taking my sweet *** time in researching EVERYTHING. Sorry you guys ran into so many speed bumps (especially you, Bayer ), but all ya gotta do is ask around.
Here is my set-up, and I hope it helps some of you out:
-FAST 102 (Mamo ported soon)
-FAST 60# injectors (LS2 style with LS1 harness adapters) NO spacer kit required
-MAP extension for front install (it's mighty tight behind the intake on a Camaro/T/A)
-Godspeed 102 TB (sensor holes need a little "opening up")
-4" connector/bellows
-Callaway 100mm MAF
-FTP 104 lid (just arrive today)
-AC Delco LS2 Water pump (to avoid grinding the OG water pump)
-FAST LS2/Stock style fuel rails
The list above has made my life easy!
Now... the issues below might serve to help others:
The waterpump - Buy a new one for $190 like I did to avoid the grinding or just grind yours....which is a pain.
Injectors - Now we know there is an injector issue, you need the skinnier ones. The skinny LS injectors car be used, but you'll need the FAST spacer kit. The fuel rail will also sit higher due to the spacers. Remember, the 102 is an LS2 based manifold, so LS2 rails SHOULD be used to avoid any leaks and to get the best fitment.
Inline Nitrous Set-ups - Depending on the nitrous set-up, it may not clear a cowl/stock hood.
Strut Tower Braces - Do not fit with 102's. 6litereater is addressing the issue with a new custom design. As soon as my motor is in, we'll begin test fitting.
Are there any other issues to help others out with?

^ Not to mention the noids getting in the way, the thing I'm wondering about is how much of a PITA is it going to be to TQ the intake down now?? It was tight for me, but I got it. Used a 3/8" drive 5mm socket, but didn't clock the socket into the ratchet all the way to get me an extra 1/4" of length.

^ It's doable with JUST the intake, but with the DPNI setup in there, it may get in the way. You can't reach across the top of the intake on this like you can with others. If this was on a G8, GTO, Vette or 5th Gen, it would be a LOT easier.

I take it the LS2 waterpump is a direct bolt in replacement with the same dimensions as an LS1, except of course the housing that clears the intake??
There's definitley no clearance issues with the LS2??

^ LS2 is a bolt in replacement. I think someone here posted pics of the 102 installed with the LS1 pump.
And there was a guy who posted in here somewhere about the Meziere with the 102. I don't remember if there were clearance issues or not.
