The answer is no. You have to get your car re-adjusted for the change in stall speeds. Your shift points will be off as well as the lock up points for the converter. Your car will run like a pos if you dont get it re-tuned for the new stall.

According to Frost ( I live 20min away from his shop) you can run your car without a tune on a bigger stall. I'm putting in a 3500 stall and he said all I have to do is pay attention to the manufacturers break in period and the " LET'ER EAT ".

Honestly, I would personally get a dyno tune. Its much more affective than a mail in tune IMO. No offense to Frost I am sure he does a great job with them, its just what I would recomend. It really sounds like you are unsure of what you are doing. So with that being said..... Do both the cam and the stall at the same time. Make sure you do some research and spec the cam and stall to work correctly together. Once you get both installed take it to a shop to dyno tune it.

IMO a 3500 stall would be ideal for what your doing. And again with a stall you DON'T NEED a tune. It will run fine, just make sure you do what the manufacturer suggest for break in and then drive it like you stole it.
