Default Custom Y pipe!

just got the custom y pipe today with cutouts today, i gave to a buddy and hes gunna go sand blast it for me.

also i ordered some hooker headers so those should be here soon and i can get it all put together with no problems

heres the pipe...bad pic

Good god that looks terrible.. I would start from scratch, get a Flowmaster Merge and buy the flowtech pipes fro your cutouts from Mike at the ws6 store (vendor)

to be honest i dont care what the underside of my car looks like. no ones gunna see it and i dont want to spend lots of money on pretty pipes and cut outs

Its not a matter of appearance. The merge on that pipe could of used some better tlc.

yea but with gas prices and school moneys super tight so for the $30 bucks this cost me im happy as a clam

looks good, i see no problem with the exhaust besides he might have a little more rasp part throttle compared to a flowmaster merge, open cutout it wont matter what merge he has. sandblasting will clean it right up!

I wasn't going for appearance reason.. that merge is a terrible design.. You're gonna be dissappointed once you hear how raspy it will be.

But to each their own.. good luck with it.. post up some pics once its sandblasted and painted

X2 on the merge. its totally not about the looks. i say save that 30$ so you do it once and b done with it. the y pipe doesnt look bad at all. good job

Yeah no one is trying to be mean to you buddy,just trying to help that merge looks like it will be nothing but rasp,yeah cutouts help but a few more bucks saved could have got ya a decent y pipe,just my opinion though,you could have that pipe gold plated it wouldn't matter,good luck bro have a safe season

They guys are talking about something like this. The flowmaster merge has been proven to provide big tq gains in the midrange, and more hp\tq up top. My Ypipe setup cost me around 200ish. Custom, mandrel bent. Still for 30bucks not a bad deal.

does anybody have a write up or anything on a flowmaster merge ? I want to put a flowmaster merge on my Kooks Y-pipe mostly because of rasp but what kind of power gains are we talking here ?

just break the shitty merge apart and put the flowmaster merge in place...

That is a horrible merge though....hooker headers and a staight up ghetto *** y-pipe..I don't get it...rasp--brrafs--rasps--fppdbumbbumbrapssrasppppp....you'll see

Here is my buddies graph. He went from a crappy ypipe to a custom one with flowmaster merge...tq gains were crazy!

how would i go about re doing the merge and im looking at flowmaster web site for the y collecters and im going to have 3 in collecter on headers and 3 in pipe all the way back and i dont see any 3in x 3in they are all bigger at the secondary
