You're not missing anything, I had the same problem. Ended up cutting the hanger off, adding a piece of steel rod and welded it where I needed it to be.

My Magnaflow is **** as well, the hangers would not line up at all. I ended up cutting the hanger shorter and bending it to line up.

I had a bitch of a time getting mine to go on right too. When I did get it on, the tips would become loose and get crooked after a few miles of driving. I ended up tack welding the tips in place. What a PITA.

Just turn the hanger/rubber bumper to the other side? Outer side?

Magnaflows are known for having fitment issues and the occasional manufacturing issues as well. It's cool they suggested from the start that it could be an error on their part.

Drives me crazy how my tips get loose and Move I def need to do some. Adjusting this weekend my, my. Buddy with a gto and I switched up rides on our way home. From the mall and I was behind my car and my driver side tip was all **** eyed. Pissed me off to no end because I had no idea it looked like that for a year...

Threads like this come up several times a week. Between the fitment issues and the quiet sound I'm surprised anyone even buys these things any more. They seem like too much of ahead ach to me.

^ I think they do for any application EXCEPT an f-body. Mustangs, vettes, GTOs, etc. all sound and fit great. The ones for our cars fit and sound like total trash.
