BBK chrome LT headers
BBK y-pipe
SLP Dual Dual
When I did my built 383 motor back in Feburary I ran a little low on budget and decided to get the Chrome BBK headers. They came in and are very well made. I have had Pacesetter and Mac headers in the past and was very impressed with the quality of the BBK headers.
They have been on my car for over 4 months and a little under 4000 miles now. They still shine just like they are brand new. No leaks or anything of that nature. The 2.5 inch y-pipe is a perfect size as the car does not scrape on anything at all something my Pacesetter headers/y-pipe did alot of! I would recomend these headers for anybody who is looking for a good header to purchase.

1. Kook's SS LT's
2. Kook's Catted Y-Pipe
3. Hooker Catback
4. Magna Flow Cats (with Kook's Y-Pipe)
5. No tuning yet
6. No dyno testing yet
7. Fitment is 1st rate. Installation was strait forward, (thanks to JRP). This is a quiet setup. At curb idle you would swear I didb't have headers on this car. At moddest cruising speeds the car is amazingly quiet. No drone, or rasp of any kind. At WOT this set up has a very nice, throaty, V-8 Note.
8. I like this set up, although I would admit it was expen$ive.

1) what headers you have
Stainless Steel 1 5/8" Off Long Tube Headers
2) what Y pipe or X/H pipe you have
Stainless Steel Off Road Y Pipe
3) what catback you have
Borla Adjustable Catback - Open Plate
4) what cats your running
I hate cats!
5) any tuning you did/needed
Full Hp Tuners Tune
6) any verifiable dyno gains due to your exhaust setup.
Did not dyno
7) small review (or large if you like) of your over all setup, any tips you'd like to add concerning the combination.
This Exhaust with the Cam sounds like sex at idle. There is some machine gun rasp from 1.4-1.6k rpm so I tend to stay out of that zone. Car absolutely screams at WOT!!!
8) would you recommend your setup to somebody else.
I think you will be hard pressed to find a car that sounds better at idle or wot! The stock manifolds and stock y pipe with the Borla sounded better from 1.4k-3k though I don't want to add cats or a bullet to my i-pipe...

Stock manifolds and cats
SLP Loudmouth II catback
It has a great sound overall. quiet at idle and really opens up at WOT.
Almost to quiet for just cruising around though.

As someone who really likes the tone of his catback, is there a way I can have a shop custom make an X or H-pipe that would fit and still keep my Magnaflow? I'm looking to get some TSP Longtubes, but I would rather ditch the Y-pipe if at all possible. I could settle to not have Cats, if that'd be an issue (would I be able to weld them in later?).

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried running their car without cats and without a muffler? I've got borla, and I was thinking of taking the muffler out, and replacing it with a straight pipe. I've tried searching the tube to see how it would sound, but its hard to track down. Would it be too raspy? or would it sound like the open plate side?
