Old Setup:
Stock manifolds
Stock Y pipe
TSP rumbler cat back
Magnaflow dual/dual tips
Stock Tune
No noticable power gains
I would recommend it to someone on a budget and wants a decent sound.
This system sounds ok and is good if you're on a budget. I bought the cat back for less than $300 with no tips. It sounds good at idle and when reving, but when its coming down off a rev i dont like the sound. Everything was good quality and very easy to install.
Heres a clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kHqg8TQCbY
Current setup:
Same as above but I had a 1 chamber flowmaster welded in place of the bullet that comes with the rumbler.
I like the flowmaster sound much better. Its a little louder, and really doesnt have as much rasp or interior niose as the bullet.
Heres a clip of the flow:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-w_1fIZrMFg
Setup as of next weekend
Pacesetter coated LT's
TSP off road Y
1 chamber flow
SLP Lid
Possibly will have a tune if i can get everything on before the shop closes on sat.
Will have dyno results shortly

pacesetter ceramic coated long tubes
pacesetter off road y pipe,
SLP loudmouth1
fitment on both exhaust Y and lt's was realy good, great ground clearence, good fitment, no setbacks,
power gain was noticeable,
sound is.. brutal and loud,
i both recomend it and not, the sound is awesome, at WOT it sounds like a nascar, but keep in mynd, this is stupid loud.. at every rpm and conditions

1) what headers you have
JBA shorties
2) what Y pipe or X/H pipe you have
Factory? with the flat piping removed and round installed in its place
3) what catback you have
LM1
4) what cats your running
factory
5) any tuning you did/needed
dont know, the tuner has a fucked up
6) any verifiable dyno gains due to your exhaust setup.
Can't say as was not dyno'd pryor. Did feel a big SOTP difference and went from dead hook to no traction.
7) small review (or large if you like) of your over all setup, any tips you'd like to add concerning the combination.
Car sounds great, espeicially at WOT. For my car these made a huge difference. Sound definitely went up a few notches.
8) would you recommend your setup to somebody else.
I would recomend for someone in California, who wants to stay smog legal, and doesn't mind a loud car. Are these as good as LTs on a stock car? I don't know but I will be putting some LTs on very soon, then I will know. I will update after I get the Edelbrock LTs on completely.

what dyno were you using? not calling you a liar, but i find it hard to beleive that you put down 350 with shorties, which may as well be stock manifolds, rigged y-pipe, intake, TB, and fucked up MAF.
#145
dunno what dyno, it was in the floor of the shop that tuned it. The tuner told me XXXhp. Bought the car with the rigged y-pipe, **** it, better than flat I would guess. My fucked up MAF werks fine. Have the heads on the car been werked? Don't know. is there a baby *** cam in there? again I don't know. Just found out a few weeks ago it has a truetrak posi. I know that car is alot faster than people THINK it should be. I'll Tell you what, I will leave off the dyno numbers just so you can sleep better at night, OK?

1.) Stock manifolds
2.) Stock catted Y-pipe
3.) Magnaflow catback w/ 3.5" slash cut tips.
Review : I received it in a very short time from Maryland Speed/Performance(sponsor here). The exhuast was packed very well, no damage of any kind.
The install was a little bit of a PITA in some aspects, but overall, very straight-foward. It took a little under 2hours. This was becuase the factory exhuast was welded to a shitty Flowmaster 80-series that the previous owner had installed. So I had to make a couple cuts in the piping to remove it. 2 cutting wheels later, it was off, and in little time had the Magnaflow mounted up and started adjusting.
First startup sounded WORLDS better. Fairly mellow tone, until you get in it. No rasp at all. No drone AT ALL inside the car. Nothing rattles or knocks. I would give the fit and finish an 8 out of 10. There was a lot of flashing from the welds, and one of the slip joints didnt slide in at all, causing me to cut longer slips in the piping, and then flaring it out with a pry-bar It fit perfect after that.
I'm sure everyone's experience is different from car to car, but I would recommend this exhuast to anyone who wants a refined tone, look, and a nice pickup in performance. It doesn't break the bank, either.

Hooker long tubes
off road y-pipe
Hooker catback
no immediate before or after tuning
I really like the setup. It's very mellow at both moderate acceleration and cruising, but really screams when you give it hell! This is a popular setup and I recomend it 100%
Clips are on my fquick page in my sig.

-Pacesetter LT's w/o egr/air provisions
-TSP ORY
-Stock 3" pipe after the y pipe
-Flowmaster Delta 40 1 in 2 out muffler
-SLP lid & Bellows
-Dyno Tuned @ RPM, Garner, NC
-After replacement MAF #'s 330rwhp/342rwtq
TSP ORY:had to notch the tranny crossmember on left rear side and around 55 or 60 mph I get a slight vibration but only in 6th gear, cant figure out where it's coming from.
Other than that I am pretty happy w/the setup until I get the money for a full Borla catback.
Still want cutouts

Here's my setup, the goal was to find a combo for CA smog, with a combination that flows:
>> what headers you have
JBA shorties
>> what Y pipe or X/H pipe you have / what catback you have
Bassani Dual Exhaust
>> what cats your running
Magnaflow ceramic
>> any tuning you did/needed / any verifiable dyno gains due to your exhaust setup
https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....&postcount=301
>> small review (or large if you like) of your over all setup, any tips you'd like to add concerning the combination.
Sound = badass plus high class/tangible implementation/flexibility.
>> would you recommend your setup to somebody else.
What's not to like, impressive fitment, incredible flow, fair market value, stainless steel.
>> Sound Clips (compression levels)

1998 Z28
1) Mac-Midlengths with flanges cut and replaced with v-band clamps
2) Custom Dual 3" y-pipe into a Flowmaster y-collector
3) 4" Mufflex into Spintech dual 3" out
4) No Cats
5) Full tune (cam'd car)
6) Sorry, no dyno yet.
7) I love the combo! Slight overkill but cam sounds great on cruise night!!!
8) DEFINETLY recommend this setup but would also recommend true duals with Sweet Thunders
And here's what is sounds like (I have a F13 cam 230/232 on a 112 + 2):

Just for reference, here is a clip of the prior exhaust: Magnaflow muffler in place of the stock muffler:

Yeah, I'm a fan of the 'welds'. :-)

1) what headers you have
Coated Pacesetters 1 3/4 inch to 3 inch
2) what Y pipe or X/H pipe you have
Pacesetter 3" ORY
3) what catback you have
Flowmaster
4) what cats your running
None
5) any tuning you did/needed
None yet
6) any verifiable dyno gains due to your exhaust setup.
No dyno, but I dropped 2 tenths on 2.1 60s. I have hit 1.8 60s before but the track prep wasnt as good, so they were def worth more than 2 tenths
7) small review (or large if you like) of your over all setup, any tips you'd like to add concerning the combination.
I got Bosch 13111s. No problems in over a year despite what some people say. Not hard to install at all. Its pretty quiet, and if I want noise I have a cutout.
8) would you recommend your setup to somebody else.
yeah sure. My car had the Flowmaster when I got it, thats about the only thing I may change.

just out of curosity, i have noticed on the canadian cars, insted of having words, like service engine soon, you have an icon of an engine, and for the fuel level, again, insted of E and F you have an icon. whats the deal with that? i know why the units are changed, but cant Canadians read?
