Before I Install My Electric Cutout...

Here is a run down of the plan. Run the wires through the rubber grommet under the rear passenger side seat--fix the cuts back with RTV--pull under the carpet to the console--lossen the console so that I can lift it up somewhat to pull the wires under. Hook the ground to the cig lighter, positive to the pink on the asr. Use lock tite on the nuts for the cutout, and RTV between the cutout and the electric cutout, and some between the butterfly and the motor? Does this sound about right? Also mount light and button in ashtray.

Thats right! You can hook the ground to anywhere, behind the cig lighter might be difficult, but I dunno.

I haven't looked yet, is it a pink wire with a white stripe?

I think mine was plain bright red, and was a little larger than the other wires. Use a voltmeter to make sure.

Yep, sounds right, its really easy to do and nows the time to do it, before it gets too damn hot out. I did mine in the summer. Sveaty. Hard part is running the wire up under the carpet. I used heavy guage outdoor electrical wiring, taped the QTEC wire to that and used it to thread it through. Coat hanger would work too. I didn't have locktite or RTV, so I tightened it up real good and made the hole tiny.

Remember, 4 seconds open to close (or vice versa). You don't want to burn out the motor. And if it ever has trouble closing/opening, take it off and see if it needs cleaned. If that doesn't work, send it back to have it fixed. Don't hold the button down, you'll really damage the motor. Keep your cutout cap.
