Default Who has gone from Flowmaster to LM??

We all know that the LM flows much better....but I'm just curious about exactly how much louder the LM is than the american thunder. I have the american thunder on my car now and am seriously thiking about a LM....but I just want to get a feel for how much louder it will be.

It will be noticeably louder and not as deep of a tone.

On my 98Z I went from a two chamber flow to LM catback. Honestly it didn't sound good to me, I know it made more power but the rasp and drone was terrible.

flowmaster doesn't sound as loud as you think - it sounds loud from the inside but when you're behind a car with flowmaster, it's not that loud. But the loudmouth will make a bigger difference.

I have both and the Flowmsster sucked. There was a noticable increase in SOTP feeling, throttle response and loudness going to the LM. I am glas i got rid of the POS flows

Flowmaster definitely has a deeper/bassier sound, but is not as loud as the SLP Loudmouth overall (especially up top). With that said, I like the tone of the Flowmaster much, much better than the Loudcrap. Although I'll agree that the Flowmaster won't touch the LM's performance at just about any level, including mostly stock...

I too went from the Flowmaster American Thunder to the loud mouth and regretted it after a while. The LM is of course louder but its not a better sound. The LM was deeper and had less rasp. The flowmaster also didnt have that dreaded 2000rpm drone/resonance like the LM.

If I were you I'd keep the Flowmaster and get a cut out. Its cheaper than buying the LM and you can make it quiet whenever you want. If you are dead set on getting a LM you should at least hear it in person first.

Oh yeah I didnt notice a difference in power when I switched. I of course no longer have the LM.

Im doing the reverse. I have the LM and Ill be puttin on the Flowmaster exhaust. I needed something a little quieter with headers and the flowmaster will do the trick. Ill also have a QTEC when I want more power.

I went from Flowmaster to the LM and waht a difference, but I also added Kooks headers and Y-pipe at the same time....so I went from really tame to really outragous. The only thing keeping my rasp down is the cats...I love it JMO

Man this sucks. The LM sounds like it'll be too loud, and the hooker catback sounds like it'll be too quiet. Any other brands to consider in that price range??

Hooker catback is too quite on a just exhaust car but with headers and off road y pipe or a H/C car will sound great not too loud. Jason at Thunder recommends it and uses it on his car.

Well i have had both and i must say the "LOUDMOUTH" is one of the few products that backs its name up but i agree with maddboost it is what it is,so if you want more power go with the LM but beware its friggin LOUD or stay with your flomaster and get a cut out ive got a flomaster on my car right now but its coming off in a few weeks, got a complete borla,i like the flomaster, its just a personnel choice

Dont waste your money on a new catback, just keep the flows for sound, and a cutout for power. The LM is basically a 300 dollar cutout.

the LM is loud, but it's tolerable. If you get the headers, then it'll be way too loud. I did this later and damn, my ears were ready to get damaged or something... I can never go on freeways. Right now I'm using GMMG with the headers and still I find it difficult.

i gained 7 rwhp on back to back dyno pulls when i just changed out the muffler. its a flowmaster 80. while its not the best in h.p numbers it better than stock.
the loudmouth has a very unrefined sound to it.
