H,C,I, question
I recently purchased a 2000 z28 6spd with 71,000 miles, the car has long tubes, 4.10 gear, tsp true duals. I am looking for a good h,c,i, combo to make some really good power. I was thinking about going with a set of afr heads, a fast 102 intake and an ms4 cam. Just wondering if this will be a good combo, any input and suggestions is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

really depends on budget, but beings your throwing out afr heads and fast 102, sounds like your wanting to spend a little bit. the ms4 would make awesome power up top, but i would go with a calmer cam.
good heads with a shitty cam, good power...
awesome cam with shitty heads....shitty power...
youll make great power with just the heads and cam you want.
also what are you planning on doing with the car? dd, race, weekend warrior?

^ If you want it to drive pretty good, don't go MS4. That with 4.11's will be a LOT better than stock geared car and an MS4. It doesn't have the best street manners.
PM PatG or PredatorZ for a cam spec. They can find what would work well for you.

if you buy the AFR get a cam from Tony M..if you buy some other heads get a cam from Patrick-G,or Pred-Z .read some threads about these guys and you will see that they know cams.

you looking for maximum power to bolt on im guessing? Buy the best heads you can afford along with the supporting mods and have PatG spec you a cam, dont just toss the biggest cam you can fit in there!

Man-Crush Warning
Ms4, fast90/nw90, PRC LS6 stg 2.5 heads, made 485rwhp/421rwtq, this was with pacesetters, a cutout, through a 6 speed, and 10bolt with 4.10 gears. I've since then removed the ps, a/c, added an ewp, TSP 1 7/8 headers, TSP duals. Also added a 9" with 4.11's, and a th400. Next will be a Fast 102/ptm 102 combo, TSP 100mm maf, and a FTP 104 lid. Should make ok power on the dyno still even with the auto.

Honestly, if I was looking to drop that kind of coin I'd spend the extra 1k and just buy a D-1SC kit and have 500rwhp and more streetable than any H/C setup. I'm looking to buy a H/C combo but going with the budget 2.5 ls6 heads. Whole setup with everything I need (oil pump, injectors, UD pulley, plugs, wires, gaskets, timing chain, springs, rods etc) will run me about $3,200 with me doing the install. Add an extra $2,500 for your AFR heads and the whole FAST 102 setup and your at $5,700. A complete D-1SC kit is $6,600. I'd drop the extra coin but thats just me.
