Best Deal to P&P Throttle Body? I would like to pick up a few extra ponies by port and polishing my stock ls1 (78mm?) throttle body. I personally lack a dremel and the skills to trust myself with it. Doesn't one of our sponsors do it for $75? you just have to ship it to them right? I would imagine a shop would charge more than $75, so I think this may the best bet. can anyone chime in with some info? Thanks in advance.
I am not sure if any small time places that still sponsor on here to do it or not. The project isn't too bad really and there are a few good "how to" articles on it. Dremels are nearly infinitely useful as well.
I say pick up a spare throttle body if you are worried about damaging it. Buy a decent Dremel and give it a shot. Then when you are satisfied, sell your stock throttle body. Great introduction project to porting. I think it is fun to do as well. I used to do a little bit of it back in the day for the MR2 community. (No plug intended, I am not interested in providing this service to anyone)

you don't need skills to do this mod,a few diff,grits of sandpaper will work,follow a write up and you will be good,I can even walk you threw it,you also don't need a dremel,it helps but not needed
Polishing doesn't do Jack for performance. It's a bling
thing pure and simple.
Porting can be done in a couple of hours with a pack
of sanding rolls and a cheapo drill. Of course you
have to trust your hand.

Look up POTZ Performance or Jantzer on eBay. Pretty cheap $60/$70 and you can get a polished spring and stainless screws with coolant delete for free basically.
This is with a core exchange but it's a good peice has te bump stop removed.
