Anytime I see LM and Magnaflow threads I take a peek. I have witnessed first hand a few f-bodys that had to do something about their LM exhaust, and hundreds on this site. I always tell everyone to stay away from LM if they ever plan to do headers, as they will just be looking for another cat-back later. Magnaflow is a great system. My old TA had the single tips, and my new TA has the quad tips version. Sure the exhaust could be a little louder at idle, but nothing a cut-out cant fix. And the icing on the cake is the price for unit... under $500.... cant beat it.

I'm not a huge fan of Magnaflows Fbody catback design as it seems a little too muffled(no pun) for my tastes. But, their single inlet/outlet muffler designs are outstanding. Great fit/finish, quality is second to none, and they sound excellent.

Their C5 catback sounds like musical viagra. Especially with no cats and a camshaft.

I 100% agree lol I been contemplation a LM2 setup, or the chambered powerflow but u make a valid point about a transition from slp to something else.

I think a electric cut-out is a excellent choice if i wanted a loud idle, but low drone on hwy ty!

I'm starting to feel the same. I did my exhaust all at once LT's ORY and maggie catback it always sounded quite to me although it was winter and always had my window up it sounded quite. Until last week that is I took a liuttle drive with the tops off and in 5th gear at 60 driving thru the hills in Kansas it sounded pretty damn good. I guess ill just invest in a cut out and and a diffrent pair of tips down the line lol

Yeah if you run a catless y it sounds crazy for a street car.

I've had LT's, ORY, and LM1 for a few years and my magnaflow just showed up the other day to replace it so add me to that list. I'm just waiting on my electric cut-out to show up and some time to install it.

Exhaust vid please
I don't have one at the moment, but I'll take one before I swap exhaust and post.

It's the most ridiculous sounding exhaust I've ever heard. I honestly don't see why anyone would choose to put LM1 with a catless y on their street car. I wish I would have just bought a magnaflow in the first place..

I too must make apologies to Magnaflow. I initially said it was too quiet with the stock manifolds but since it's had a few more miles to "loosened up" it sounds great, especially for the money. It sounds a little quiet at idle but give it the boot and it nice and mellow.

I picked up the quad tip Magnaflow. I got some Ebay headers. Now I just need to figure out which y-pipe to go with. It will probally sound better with cats and I don't want to deal with a constant gas smell.

We converted from a LM1, to a Magnaflow (cannon tip) on my wife's WS.6 and couldnt be any happier.

With a TSP 231/237, SLP L/Ts, high flows, and the LM1 the drone was crazy! It was loud all the time, and sounded good at idle, but anything about that (especially above about 3500rpm) it didnt sound good any more.

With the Magnaflow, the drone and rasp are gone, and its actually nice to drive again! Road trips are so much better now, and IMHO the sound is great! Nice idle, and pretty loud at WOT!
